This Mid Century print by Gustave Singier is signed and #. Gustave Singier was born in belgium and he started painting by the age of 14. From 1927, he worked as a draughtsman, designing interior architecture and furniture until 1936. 1945 he was one of the founding members of Salon De Mai. 1951-1954 Singier taught at Ranson Academy. 1967-1978 taught at Paris school of Art. In the later part of his life, Singier helped to found many new galleries including the Salon du Toulon in 1975 and the Salon de Vitry-sur-Seine in 1976 with Camille Bryen, Louis Chavagnier, Ladislas Kijno and Felix Labisse among others. He also actively exhibited in France and began showing his work internationally with pieces in the Venice Biennial and Guggenheim in 1954, and exhibiting his work in Tokyo, Moscow and many other cities. He died on May 5, 1984.
